St Andrews , Scotland on 27th - 31st August, 2007

20th Wilhelm Bernhard Workshop:
International Conference on the Cell Nucleus

Programme

The Wilhelm Bernhard Lecture for 2007 will be given by Dr Joseph G. Gall
Carnegie Institution, Baltimore.

The Wilhelm Bernhard Junior Lecture will be given by a candidate selected by the Local Committee. Young scientists wishing to be considered for this prize should print "WB junior" at the start of their abstract.

It is our aim to give all participants the chance of presenting either a 20 minute talk or a poster which will remain on display through most of the conference. Exact details of the programme of talks will be posted soon after the deadline for registration (31st May, 2007). Sessions will include recent work on all aspects of nuclear structure and function.

The registration desk for the Workshop will be staffed in the foyer of New Hall from 14:00 h on Monday 27th August. The first formal event will be a Buffet Reception at 18:00 h in Parliament Hall followed at 19:30 h by Welcome Addresses and the Wilhelm Bernhard Medal Lecture.
The first conference session will be held in the Gateway at 09:00 h on Tuesday 28th August. All subsequent sessions and poster displays will be held at this venue. Wireless connection and temporary e-mail accounts will be available for use in the conference area.
It is planned to have a bus excursion to see part of the Scottish Highlands, incorporating a visit to a whisky distillery, on the afternoon of Wednesday 29th August and a whisky tasting at the poster session that same evening.
The Gala Dinner will be held in the evening of Thursday 30th August in Lower College Hall and will be followed by a Ceilidh (Scottish music, dancing and a good time for all) in Upper College Hall.
The last conference session will end at 13:00 h on Friday 31st August, followed by lunch and departure.
