My PhD project is focused on understanding the impacts of human activities on the distribution of humpback whales in the coast of Brazil, for which I'm using line-transect and satellite telemetry data. During my master, I have used distance sampling to estimate the abundance of the same population. I also have a degree in veterinary medicine, and some experience on aquatic fauna strandings and wild animal rehabilitation.

I am funded by CNPq, Brazilian federal government (Science Without Borders programme).
